Organization

The Company’s organizational structure consists of three main functional areas with 34 full-time employees: Finance, IT & Administration, Research & Development and Clinical Development & Regulatory Affairs. BioAxone is fully operational in these areas and has the expertise and track record necessary for early stage drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development, regulatory affairs and protein manufacturing.
 



Frank Bobe, Ph.D., MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer


Dr. Bobe was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer at BioAxone Therapeutique Inc. in March 2005. Prior to joining BioAxone, Dr. Bobe was Chief Executive Officer and Country Head of Novartis’ affiliate in South Korea. He successfully launched several key brands, implemented alliances with local and global partners and revitalized the organization by recruiting a new management team and renegotiating labor agreements. Prior to joining Novartis Korea, Dr. Bobe held operational management and global corporate leadership positions at Novartis, with increasing responsibilities in preclinical research, sales and marketing and general management. Dr. Bobe holds a Ph.D. in Bio-organic Chemistry from the University of California at Davis and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in biochemistry in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Prof. Bruce Merrifield, Rockefeller University, New York. He received an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.



Dr. Patrick Tremblay, Vice President of Research & Development 

Dr. Tremblay joined BioAxone as Vice-President of Research and Development on December 1, 2005, succeeding Dr. Lisa McKerracher, CSO and Founder of the Company. Dr. Tremblay has broad expertise in Research with 20 years of experience in the field of neurodegenerative research and proven track record in biopharmaceutical R&D. Prior to joining BioAxone, Dr. Tremblay worked as Director of Pharmacology at Neurochem, where he was responsible for the development of small therapeutic molecules for the treatment of amyloid diseases. Dr. Tremblay also worked as Assistant Professor in Neurology at the University of California in San Francisco (1994-2000) with Dr. Prusiner, Nobel Laureate of Medicine and Physiology (1997). He earned his B.Sc. from McGill University (1985) and Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from Université de Montréal (1991). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the UK and Germany, notably with Dr. P. Gruss, current President of the Max Planck Society. He is the co-author of 38 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
